Went to Japan for 10 days and this was my favorite of all the places we stayed. Would definitely come back here again! It was so fun to experience the traditional ryokan house whilst being in the bustling city of Osaka!

Featuring a large Japanese garden and natural hot-spring baths, Nanten-En Ryokan offers traditional luxury in a beautiful natural setting. Great 11 course dinner was included, incredibly nice experience to eat it in our private room.

This is a fantastic place if you want to take some time to relax and take it slow, outside of the busy parts of Osaka. The best part our experience were the hosts, who were a lovely couple, very eager to help with anything, from restaurant recommendations to a lift to a train station. The second best part were the baths - it may seem weird at first that there are no bathrooms inside rooms (except for a sink), but that incentivises the use of the baths, which are for private use and were truly a highlight.

She made my friend and I feel at home! Definitely recommend getting the breakfast. Her cooking is amazing and will definitely fill up with plenty of energy for the day!

The area/home was so scenic/picturesque and relaxing. It was sooo clean! Room was spacious with lovely decor. Lots of toiletries provided. The only regret I have is not getting there earlier and stay longer than one night! The private sauna/spa area was amazing! Couldn't have been happier and the most perfect way to unwind and relax. Right in the heart of the national park, which was a lovely walk in the morning.

The staff were very friendly. The location was beautiful. It was in a remote area, but the mountain it was on top and the vegetation around made it well worth it. Also, the security when it comes to accessing the building was great. There is a shuttle service that takes you to the nearest station, which was very helpful. There was a curfew around 10 or 11 PM but you can inform the people at the reception if you’re gonna be later than that and they can keep the doors open until you come and then they can close it. Overall, the state was exceptional, and we enjoyed every minute.
