Our room in East Wing faced the beach and had a superb view on the bay. The outdoor swimming pool is beautiful, large enough for a little swim, with views right on the seaside and the celebrated local pine grove. You can easily go from beach to swimming pool. We were well received and kindly upgraded to a huge, luxurious room; every comfort you can think of was there. The circulation from bedroom to onsen to swimming pool can be complex, but we were given an English language map that greatly helped. This was our second stay in Karatsu, and we'd love to come back and stay in Karatsu Seaside Hotel another time !

We really enjoyed the food. The service was also excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms and garden were beautiful.

I had an absolutely amazing time at this hotel. The entire experience was beyond my expectations. The views were breathtaking—truly something out of a dream. The private onsen (hot spring) was incredible and so soothing, offering a level of peace and luxury I’ll never forget. The bathroom alone was to die for—elegant, spacious, and beautifully designed. Every detail of my stay was perfect and relaxing. I treated myself to this getaway as a personal gift, and I’m so grateful I did. Being able to experience such a serene and stunning place filled me with joy and deep appreciation. This was one of the most memorable and rejuvenating experiences I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape. Thank you for making my stay so special!

Absolutely lovely where the dishes as we are a family mix of omnivores and vegetarians- we got two different menues - both so delicious. Thank you!

Our room was very comfortable, spacious and clean with everything we needed. The onsen bath was really unique, worth the trip :) The island and harbour are very charming and most importantly of all, Emi-san was an incredibly nice host who went out of her way to help us - thank you so much Emi-san, we won’t forget our stay !

Very attentive staff. Contemporary Ryokan esthetic. Huge rooms with lots of amenities. Nice Onsen. Nice complementary lounge. Excellent dinner and service. Had an early departure before breakfast- they packed a Bento Box for me to eat on the train. Facilities and service exceeded my expectations.

The food was the best of any Ryokan I've ever staged in. We were treated to local delicacies, prepared by skilled practitioners. The staff were also very accommodating and hospitable. Would highly recommend. And the space was clean, large, modern, and comfortable.

Located in the famous Furuyu Hot Spring area of Saga Prefecture, Furuyu Onsen Oncri features a mixture of traditional and modern architectural design. The kaiseki dinner is very nice. Breakfast spread was good and varied. The onsen facilities in ryokan is very good, especially the open air bath area. The sand bath option is unusual, and the foot bath avail is nice too. Even as the staff mostly cannot speak english well, they were very helpful and assisted to their best efforts. The shop in lobby level is interesting with things to purchase.

First, this place is really great and an incredible bargain. It is located on the edge of the old castle grounds, only minutes walking to Karatsu Castle. The views of the river from the room and of the castle during breakfast are fabulous. The comfortable futons and quiet comforters were great. Our twin room had a small attached bathtub and toilet but we used the wonderful private ofuro each evening. We stayed in room 201, next to the wide staircase, above the ofuro bath. This room is the most protected from the sounds of road traffic but the din of road noise is still there some. I am a light sleeper and my wife and I slept great here! If you like Japanese style breakfasts then you will love it here. We walked through the nice pine forest down to the beach, as well as thoroughly exploring the castle. We had a great lunch at DonDonTei, down the street from Riverside. The value of where this inn is located and the quality of your stay are first class, in our book. After a month in Japan, this 2 night stay was truly one of our highlights!
