Biwako Hanakaido features outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, 3 dining options and rooms with a balcony and Lake Biwako views. It also has a garden and a sauna, while the lobby offers free WiFi. The location was good, both for private car and public transport (close to train station and it provided shuttle bus services). The staff who served us were warm and welcoming. Our room was clean and neat, slept on tatami and was able to see the lake. Onsen was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast, in Japanese dishes, were excellent. Highly recommended for families and couples who wanted a quiet stay.

Biwako Ryokusuitei offers Japanese-style/Western rooms with Lake Biwako views, a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. We like the location of the hotel.

Like other onsen ryokan, they offer pick up service from the station, in addition, they are so thoughtful, when we leave, they offer several drop off spot in case some of us want to take the cable car, ropeway back to Rurikoin temple area in Kyoto. Very thoughtful. We booked the spa service ahead of time and it's very enjoyable. We upgrade our room with a private onsen, they fill up the water and keep it warm just so we won't have to wait, very thoughtful. The food is super good quality, enjoyable. I highly recommend staying at this place. Really 10/10!!

Boasting a hot spring bath, Dantokan Kikunoya is located a 5-minute drive from JR Ogoto Onsen Station. Free pick-up from the station is available upon advance request. The staff here are incredible. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I was so grateful for how hard they all worked and how kind they all were. We also got the breakfast service in our room, which was excellent, and they provided several drinks in the fridge for us for free. They shuttled us from the station and back to it, and we were even sent off by the staff at the end of our stay. So friendly and welcoming. Also, our deluxe suite had the private open air bath, and I can't recommend that enough. It was so relaxing and incredible. Lastly, I personally loved the toiletries and additional things that came with the room (shampoo, straightener, beverages, yukata, pajamas, etc.)

Especially Ms. Singh, good smiling face and fluent English speaking. Room was spacious and surprised to have a massage chair. Both dinner were delicious.

This was one of the best and aesthetically pleasing stays in my life up to this point. The tastefulness of the room aswell as the whole hotel was truly amazing. The minute I stepped in I knew I had to write something here. The staff also was immensly polite and friendly.

The homemade Japanese breakfasts were phenomenal and a very good value. Almost unbelievable. Each day was different, with a healthy balance of vegetables, proteins, and carbs (rice). Authentic, and served by a wonderful woman.
