The Japanese-style rooms at Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen are air-conditioned and come with traditional tatami-mat flooring. Most rooms enjoy beautiful views of the Matsukawa River. A beautiful retreat from the big city. I loved the short 5 minute walk to the ocean or a gorgeous walk along the Itoo river. The walk to the hostel was really lovely. I'll never forget sitting in the viewing area in our room as it rained under the moonlight.

WOW. This was a shot in the dark booking since I couldn’t find a place near the beach that was tattoo friendly. We were blown away at the facility, amenities and overall beauty of the location. I booked 3 rooms. Everyone had their own private onsen bath. My husband and I upgraded to the sauna barrel room and we LOVED IT. The guys all did sauna in the morning. They even give you handmade authentic sauna hats. Breakfast was simple but filling. Half of the group did the Japanese style, half did American. My jumbo toast made me feel like I was in a Ghibli movie having breakfast. There is a vending machine in the breakfast area was a variety of snacks and drinks. Our van made it on the roads to the property. So a standard vehicle will have no issue. Beautiful creak flowing in the backyard of every room. Every room has an entrance, toilet & sink room, living room (doubles as bedroom bc you have tatami beds), vanity sink & rack, THEN sliding door to your shower & bath, THEN sliding door to your porch with seating. Our room had the barrel immediately to the left of the porch with ANOTHER outdoor tub. Price was excellent!!

Mount Daruma is 49 km from the ryokan, while Hakone Checkpoint is 22 km away. I think this stay was the best experience in my traveller’s life! From the moment I booked -requesting allergies and other details to the moment we left the hotel. I cannot express enough how attentive the stuff are! They noticed during the dinner our kid was left handed, and breakfast was served on the left side. All I can say is Wow! and thank each and everyone who made this unforgettable memory for our family!

Very comfortable stay with professional housekeeping management which gave us a glimpse into traditional Japanese onsen culture; the staff are very kind and helpful taking charge of everything ranging from meals to the onsen with meticulous care; the dinner was absolutely excellent: not only did they offer a great variety of Japanese cuisine but they did it in a magnificent way, serving every delicacy with great hospitality and professionalism.

The hotel is located about 2km from seafront and close enough to some amazing Mt Fuji views. Free bicycles available but to travel beyond Heta I would suggest a car from safety perspective.

Lake Ashi is 28 km away and Hakone Open-Air Museum is 34 km from the ryokan. the owner so was cute and kind! although there was a language barrier, we were able to communicate and she gave us tips of things to do and see in atami. she also gave us a wee bag of snacks on departure and walked us up the street to say goodbye. the property was very comfy and we had a lovely stay!

The breakfast and dinner was amazing, staff was really helpful and kind. Just that location abit far without a car
