Hakone Checkpoint is 22 km from the ryokan, while Hakone Shrine is 25 km away. The evening meal was a delicious curated seasonal multi-course menu, with tender wagyu beef as the highlight. The staff were so attentive even though we had very limited Japanese. And of course the room, onsen and view were amazing.

Isoaruki no Yuyado Ushiogumo -6 years or older- features sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kawazu, 37 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. Guests staying at this ryokan have access to a balcony. Guests have access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The food was excellent, the room was amazing and most importantly the hospitality was top rate. We were looked after by Miwa for both our meals and she was brilliant. I hope we can make it back someday.

The hotel is located about 2km from seafront and close enough to some amazing Mt Fuji views. Free bicycles available but to travel beyond Heta I would suggest a car from safety perspective.

The property is located 26 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, 33 km from Shuzen-ji Temple and 48 km from Mount Daruma. Lake Ashi is 28 km away and Hakone Open-Air Museum is 34 km from the ryokan. This was the best hotel I’ve stayed at. It was run by this cute lady, who was very talkative, friendly and just enjoyed getting to know travelers. She made my stay super comfortable and I felt so at home here. I definitely want to come to Atami again just to stay here and see her again.

The wonderful room, the delicious food and the very friendly staff
