Established in 1666, Honke Bankyu is housed in a registered historical building. The Japanese rooms feature traditional decor, futon bedding and a flat-screen TV. The hotel has 5 hot-spring baths and serves local specialities for dinner. A wonderfully authentic traditional ryokan with spacious, comfortable rooms and beautiful river views. The public onsen was perfect—hot, clean, and peaceful with great natural scenery. Dinner was a delightful kaiseki experience with impressive presentation and thoughtful local dishes. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making the stay truly special. The setting with a charming rope suspension bridge adds to the unique atmosphere. A perfect getaway for onsen lovers seeking relaxation with excellent hospitality. Highly recommended. This peaceful, elegant place offers an unforgettable Japanese experience

Buffet and continental breakfast options with warm dishes, local specialities and pancakes are available. There is a coffee shop, and a minimarket is also available. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. I am afraid our stay at Kinugawa Keisui might have destroyed our expectations towards other hotels for the future. I can only describe it as absolutely outstanding. Beginning with the scenario location next to a forest and a small river, the huge, modern, beautiful and amazingly comfortable room, which didn‘t only feature several small welcome presents, a minibar filled with a wide (and free) variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and huge and comfortable beds, ending at the most outstanding breakfast and dinner consisting I was allowed to witness in Japan, the hotel and the amazingly kind and professional staff made our stay to be nothing but amazing. There are some many small details we could list, such as the outdoor fire place where you can read a book in a calm and relaxed atmosphere sipping your coffee, the bento boxes for travels during the day, the Onsen on your balcony for which you can adjust the temperature to your perfect needs, the entertainment system in your room should you chose to relax here, the staff which gives you privacy should you want it but helps with any need you might have, the fast and stable internet anywhere in the hotel and and and. We usually don‘t book hotels again, but we will definitely return here during our next Japan trip.

The ryokan will provide guests with air-conditioned units offering a desk, a coffee machine, a minibar, a safety deposit box, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a bath. At the ryokan, all units include bed linen and towels. One should give a „11“! Located about 25 Minutes by foot in the hills across the shrines overlooking inari River, absolutely quiet. A Shuttle picks up and drops off (do Not Let the rather harsh Tone of the Emails concerning early checkin (extra cost) Irritate you - that is probably die to the poor English); if you Are staying for more than one Night, they ask you Several times when and how they could Transport you to town etc. Recommend at least two Nights so you can enjoy the Room, the food, the Drinks, the music, the atmosphere. Rooms very spacious; the huge Window is fantastic (and Not cold surprisingly, so Sitting in Front sipping Tea or freshly brewed coffee is a treat Even when cold outside). Free bathtub plus shower (separate). Very stylish and comfortable. Huge bed, rather soft (by japanese standards). The decoration addresses European style luxury travellers, but obviously the japanese guests appreciate it, too. Two floors of rooms. The Lobby downstairs is also the dining Room. Free sparkling wine (very good!) and drinks from 5-6. during dinner, they Play music/videos to the guests‘ wishes. A absolute marvel is the food- do Not know where they found this Cook. Mixture of japanese and french Cuisine at its best. Very Tasty, very elegant Concept of five or six courses; breakfast on a tray with all you could ask for. The Bread (Three different kinds to three courses at Dinner, two different kinds for breakfast and no repetition) is superb and of the finest Kind! Strongly recommend to opt for the breakfast and dinner included plan! (Especially since all other options are in town). The interior speaks of the owner - a marketing Specialist who has a Vision. Very remarkable is the - abundant- staff. Extremely Super Polite (Even by japanese standards)and attentive (e.g. dried and cleaned our Shoes as a Service after we had taken a hike into the Woods during rain), very sweet and engaged. English is little present but the kindness makes up for that completely.

Set in Nakagawa and only 10 km from Nakagawa Aquatic Park, Iizukatei offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. It is located 18 km from Ungan-ji Temple and provides full-day security. This 5-star ryokan offers private entrance. Easily the best part of my trip was staying here. I felt like a mixture of an esteemed guest, friend and family while staying here. The hospitality and meticulous care of the staff, especially Maylene, the friendliness of the locals and the beauty of the hotel grounds and overall surrounding nature made for the perfect stay. My hotel room was like an apartment to myself and it was so clean, the beds were the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on, the floor has a heat option, there’s a mini kitchen (I didn’t get to cook anything though) and the shower was great and also has a tub for you to soak in too! They also give guests a yukata to wear! Every day I got a platter of fresh seasonal fruits and veggies sourced locally. They gave an option of a western or Japanese breakfast (I opted for the Japanese) and even how they served it and displayed it to you was meticulous. Food was delicious! They gave an option for a half day or a full day trip where staff can drive you around to different sites and experiences around the area. They have great recommendations (also make sure to read the material they provided you so you get a better idea on what you’d like to do). I did a soba making class and had a private onsen experience. The prices were fair for all the things I asked to do and see during my half day. They would also personally take me to restaurants and speak with them to help with the language barrier. It’s the countryside so the immediate town around was small but there’s still some things to sight see and eat; I spent one of my days just walking around and exploring town. I had food poisoning before coming here and I was literally nursed back to health here with the fresh food and the staff checking in on me all the time. If you’re hesitating, I’d say book this place for 1-3 nights at least. It’s a little far out but when are you ever going to stay in a historical 200 year old renovated complex in the beautiful countryside of Japan? You won’t regret it.
