Vi blev taget godt imod og det var spændende at deltage i meditation og morgenbøn. Dejligt mad og smukke omgivelser. Der var koldt, da vi var der om vinteren, så et godt råd er, at tage varmt tøj med.

Guest House Takiyoshi ligger i Hongu, 14 km fra Hosshinmon Oji Shrine og 21 km fra Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art. Værelserne har aircondition og et fælles badeværelse. I loved everything about the guest house - the family was super nice and attentive, the rooms very cozy, the food delicious and the onsen great after a full day of hiking.

It was such an amazing experience. Thank you to the monk staff who were so kind and patient and guided us through meditation custom and practices. Our room included shojin ryori (buddhist vegetarian cuisine) breakfast and dinner which was very balanced and filling. I feel a sense of gratitude and peace coming back to Tokyo. I would like to go every year if I can.

高野山 宿坊 不動院 -Koyasan Shukubo Fudoin- ligger i Koyasan, 38 km fra Kishi Station og 45 km fra Matsushita Park. Her er en have og gratisprivat parkering. Denne ryokan med 3 stjerner har bagageopbevaring. The room was perfect for us as a couple. We opted for a room with bath and it has an automatic function that fills up the bathtub, in time for a relaxing soak. We can also take a bath anytime we want, as opposed to the rooms with shared baths. The room is also spacious and the monks/staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They provided detailed instructions on the stay, like for the morning prayer, they will knock and guide you to the prayer area/temple. The morning service was naturally in Japanese and we appreciate that there is an English translation and guide how to conduct oneself during the ceremony. Most importantly, the vegetarian dinner and breakfast were phenomenal. The best vegetarian meals we've had for a while. So definitely recommended! We would stay there again.

高野山 宿坊 常喜院 -Koyasan Shukubo Jokiin- ligger i Koyasan, et UNESCO verdensarvssted, og har gratis privat parkering. Samtlige værelser har fladskærms-tv. Our stay at the temple was fantastic! Everyone was so nice, we had a comfortable stay and very much enjoyed the temple itself and the rest of Koyasan. The morning ceremony was also great, we can really recommend everything :)

高野山 宿坊 総持院 -Koyasan Shukubo Sojiin-, located in the center of Mt. Koya, is a Japanese-style accommodation in a Buddhist temple located to the west of Sohonzan Kongobu-ji and in front of Danjo Garan. Fantastisk verdensklasse mad. Spændende, delikat og smuk. God beliggenhed og fantastisk service.

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara har udendørs og indendørs varme kilder, kun 2 minutters gang fra Kumano Kodo Pilgrimsruterne, der står opført på UNESCO's verdensarvsliste. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and the food is wonderful. Also, the onsen is very nice, and waking up to the mountain-view is amazing. I really enjoyed my stay.
