Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. A great choice for staying in Koyasan. We loved everything about this place. The staff were very friendly and helped us with everything we needed. We loved the meditation and morning ceremony. The location is great too. The dinner was amazing and the public bath was fantastic after a long day. Thank you for everything.

The temple is very well placed, close to the old cemetery, there are some shops and restaurants around. The garden is amazing and our room had a postal-card view on it. All the facilities were extremely clean, the onsen was comfortable and not crowded ( the temple is very small). All the personnel serving us were very nice and always ready to help.

What a memorable stay and experience. The garden is gorgeous, the monks are incredibly nice and the food was delightful. We also enjoyed the morning ceremony. We only stayed for one night yet we will always cherish this memory. Thank you!

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff who helped us with our laundry and with organising a lunch for our hike. Onsen on site is very convenient after a long day of hiking.

A really nice shukubo experience - definitely recommend it. You get a sense of the daily life of the monks, and it is well located next to all the main sights in Koya. In the morning, you can participate in two rituals, and they are as depicted on the photos. Hope to be back some day!

The lodging facilities are comfortable and refined with nice touches and attention to detail. The food, although vegetarian, is exquisite - amazing flavors and textures that will satisfy. Alcohol is also available at extra cost. The morning prayer service and sutra recitation is guided as is the Ajikan meditation session which follows. Fudo-in seems smaller than some other lodging venues, which makes it more attractive and quieter. Location is perfect for bus stop #8.
