I really loved the ajinkan meditation and how the monk was kind and cheerful and pleasant. It was such a nice experience to learn something new and to have such a pleasant person that you can ask about meditation. It was so nice! The dinner was really fantastic and I was most pleasantly surprised how warm the room was because it was cold season.

What a memorable stay and experience. The garden is gorgeous, the monks are incredibly nice and the food was delightful. We also enjoyed the morning ceremony. We only stayed for one night yet we will always cherish this memory. Thank you!

Wonderful stay in nature! The place is amazing – just two steps from the river, where you can even enjoy a natural onsen right in the water! The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The people here are incredibly friendly, kind, and always smiling, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The food was also delicious, with great care put into every dish. It's a perfect base to explore the beautiful area of I-Komono and discover the stunning nature all around. Highly recommended!

Shukubo Fudoin is set back from the main road but is in the centre of the village and in close walking distance to all the main sights. The rooms were immaculate and peaceful. We arrived early but the rooms were ready and our host explained the protocols clearly and with great kindness, before serving us a cup of tea and a lovely mōchi treat. The bathhouse was available for our use from late afternoon until 8pm. The meals in the evening and morning were generous, tasty and beautifully presented. The monks and their team were humble, polite and completely charming. Prayers at 6am was a great privilege to participate in. Although we were there for only one night, we left refreshed and rested.

Located in Koyasan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 高野山 宿坊 常喜院 -Koyasan Shukubo Jokiin- offers free private parking. All rooms include a flat-screen TV. Such a wonderful experience. Morning ceremony is a must.

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. We loved everything about this place. Incredibly friendly and welcoming vibe. Great views, beautiful traditional rooms and a great communal living area. Food was beautiful. Oh and of course the onsen
