Great experience, very interesting and cultural. Loved the food and the rooms. The monks are very nice and you can attend several rituals in the temple which is amazing.

We stayed two nights in Koyasan at Fugen-in temple and it left a long-lasting impression of serenity and kindness. The temple has a long history and many works of art. Attending the morning prayer was a meditative experience. The monks were very friendly and explained about the Haiku temple in Fugen-in's garden. Breakfast and dinner were amazing, so well-balanced and lovingly prepared. The room was clean and had everything we needed, we felt well taken care of. The water of the onsen was very hot and relaxing. Fugen-in's location is perfect, very central and right around the corner of the tourist information. What also stays with us is the beautiful sound of the local cicadas.

The traditional room was extremely comfortable. In winter the room gets very cold but there is AC and the nice kotatsu (heating blanket/table). We also had the meals arranged and they were delicious. The staff was very amiable and helpfull :) Finally, the outdoor bath in the river is an unforgetable experience.

An unforgettable experience at a lovely guesthouse attached to a Buddhist temple. The accommodations were very spacious and the location both convenient and lovely. The vegan feasts for dinner and breakfast were amazing. Koyasan is not to be missed!

Possibility to attend morning ceremony - wonderful. Very very good food. Very clean onsen. Beautiful garden.

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. Great location. Great hosts and staff. Big comfortable rooms. And very good meals.
