I loved everything about this hotel from our beautiful bedroom facing the lake; the kimonos offered to us that they encouraged you to wear throughout the hotel; the buffet food that was offered for happy hour was plentiful and so delicious. We used their laundry facilities and the staff were kind enough to show us how to operate it; it was a little different than what we had ever used. They also helped us arrange the bus ride and train ride to Nagoya which we really appreciated. I would stay there again when visiting Japan, simply perfect.

Each room includes a fridge, private toilet, and guests bathe at the hot-spring baths. Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor is provided. Yukata robes are offered for guests. We stayed as a group of seven and everything was wonderful from start to finish. The kaiseki dinner course and breakfast were truly exceptional experiences — absolutely something everyone should try at least once. The hotel staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the level of service was top-notch. I also noticed that assistance was available in several different languages, which was very impressive. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel also has an onsen, which was perfect for relaxing after a long day. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

With many local ingredients and traditional Japanese culinary artistry at a fine dining level, absolutely no wishes are left unfulfilled. The rooms themselves are spacious, impeccably clean, and furnished with great attention to detail. After a wonderful day exploring the area, you can relax either on the terrace with its Zen garden or in your own private onsen bath. Set in Yamanakako in the Yamanashi region, Hanamizuki offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. This 2-star ryokan offers a garden. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. What an amazing stay we had, the room was spacious and had a direct view of Mount Fuji, the onsen was wonderful and the breakfast exceeded our expectations. There was a mixup with the company we had hired to transport our luggage and the ladies there worked tirelessly to solve it even though it was not up to them. They also helped us get a dinner reservation when we could not find a place to eat.

Minobu
At the ryokan, each unit has a tatami. Some accommodation includes a terrace with garden views, a fully equipped kitchen and a private bathroom with bidet. The units are equipped with heating facilities. We fell in love with Kakurinbo from the second we walked up the beautiful temple entrance and met all the kind staff. We stayed in the garden view room for the first night, and sitting on the balcony drinking green tea was like something out of a fairytale. The dinner served in small little colourful plates was some of the best food we have had in Japan. Our stay was so incredible: experiencing the Buddhist monk morning prayers at the temple on the hill, bathing in the baths, doing morning yoga, hiking and chatting to the staff, that we actually ended up extending for two more nights. We couldn't recommend this place more strongly. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in Japan.
Fujikawaguchiko Onsen-kyo, Fujikawaguchiko
Located just a minute's walk from Kawaguchiko Lake, Kawaguchiko Lakeside Hotel offers accommodation in Fujikawaguchiko, near Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property. The hotel is a minutes' walk away from the shores of Kawaguchiko and Kawaguchiko Herbkan. This place is absolutely lovely, Masa-san (owner) absolutely goes out of his way to help in any way he possibly can. Fantastic view of Mount Fuji from our well equipped room and just a wonderful experience, onsen is lovely and relaxing. Entire area is so beautiful. Trip finished with us checking out early in the morning as we anticipated having to walk up to the station (about 20 minutes from the hotel) around 8am. Despite Masa-san being in the middle of providing breakfast for other guests he insisted on driving us up so we'd time for a coffee. Oh, and getting up early to watch the sun rising on Mount Fuji will remain with me for the rest of my life.

The hotel is amazing. We had a hot bath which was perfect after a day of walking. The staff were very professional and friendly. The traditional breakfast and dinner (which was included in our booking) were an amazing experience. They bring you a lot of food and we ended up so full 😄 they have public and private onsen. We tried the private onsen and we recommend people to try it :) the view of Mt. Fuji and the lake on the roof is amazing. The room came with the tatami floor and the room was huge. 100% recommend
This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. My boyfriend worked at 5-star hotels in the past and even he said the service at this hotel was impeccable. We were very lucky to see Mt Fuji from our room and the private onsen. We also loved the traditional Japanese room, the dinner and breakfast selection and being able to wear the yukata provided by the ryokan. Definitely the most authentic Japanese experience of our trip. We wish we had stayed longer than just one night. We will be back at this ryokan every time we visit Japan from now on.
Everything! It was a beautiful, traditional style Japanese inn with lovely tatami mats and futons to sleep on. It was like being taken back through time and was amazing to experience a real taste of japan.
Most comfortable futons we had in Japan, owner upgraded us to a larger room with a direct view of Mt Fuji for free since we were the only guests in the ryokan. Free hot drinks and the hottest onsen bath imaginable, really rejuvenating. Wonderful hospitality with free yukata loan, 360 views of the lake and mountain from the roof terrace, and the breakfast was delicious. Great facilities and good location.
Really beautiful location as the photos show. This is a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan), which means traditional-style rooms with sliding doors, tatami mats, and futon bedding; a (nude) bathhouse within the hotel facilities; and in our case, a full traditional dinner and breakfast. This is the iconic ryokan experience! I would certainly recommend Ururun Kawaguchiko to anyone else travelling to Japan, and if you can't make it here I would strongly recommend trying to find and stay in a ryokan somewhere else for at least one night.
Excellent place to stay and relax. Each of the rooms have an outdoor onsen bath, and an indoor wet room with a bathtub and shower. The futons are placed on tatami mats. You are provided pajamas to sleep and Yukata to walk around the Ryokan and the area if you want to. The dinner and breakfast are Kaiseki style.
I was a fun to get a ryokan experience, wear a yukata and sleep on a futon.
perfect stay for anyone who wants to experience a ryokan. it was well stocked with amenities, and they even provided a yukata to wear for the onsen! we liked that we could use the onsen privately for 30 minutes max. each time. the host was very warm and welcoming. i was really looking forward to seeing mt. fuji from our room but the weather did not permit unfortunately :( wish we could’ve stayed longer because the weather had cleared up the next day!!!
Location- across from station and bus Short walk to food and sights Futons and Tatami mats Lovely onsen with Mt Fuji views
Location right by the Yagizaki Parc, on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, but most important with an absolutely stunning view on the Mount Fuji. Hotel is designed like a Ryokan: rooms with Tatami mats, comfortable futons as beds, shared bathrooms with small Onsen, optional breakfast (changes by day between Japanese and western style).
