I’m hoping to get a refund as we didn’t even stay the night, false advertising, bar was shut, no humans to talk too, ghost town at 7.15pm at night!, towels in the room had mold on them 🙈, I’ve stayed in hundreds of places but this is the very worst, room opposite were filming a xxx film, guy walking around the hallway with a hammer , like a scene 🎬 out of a horror movie
Reminded me of out-patients at the hospital, all the guests walking around in flip flops & socks with no brain 🧠 cells, like a zombie movie
I really hope they can improve on the place
PS
the first time in my life I have ever left a review…

The place is super new and is completed to a high standard. Everything is well thought out and you can really feel like you are at home while you stay here. The kitchen included a lot of utensils and everything you need to cook a basic meal and prepare breakfast. The hosts also provided some complimentary wine and snacks which was a nice touch. Also, the host greeted us on our first day just to check in but other than that we were left to our own which was nice.
I loved the town city and visited it almost every day.
I loved the town city and visited it almost every day.
It had all my favorite stores next, lidl, aldi, tjmaxx etc.
I love that the university is just by the town center and it gave me that feeling of being back in school

I am from Bolton, but live overseas. Love the town hall area, but the shops I used to know are not there anymore. Sad to say many major shops gone.
Queen's Park is a lovely place to feed the birds and the squirrels at the pond area. Bought wild bird food from Poundland.
Barrow Bridge and Moss Bank Park also very pleasant to walk through on a sunny day.
The museum is a pleasant and interesting place with a souvenir shop too. Why they had to move the library out of the same building is a mystery to me. Buses usually on time and available during the week and Saturdays.
Good self service laundrettes available which proved helpful when running out of clothes.

It was quite no noise some of the staff need training again with manners to guest, also the girls/lads who clean rooms should be able to acknowledge guest to see if they need anything instead of turning away from them. Other than that nice stay would be nice to speak to staff while staying their communication goes a long way. When been to other hotel spoke to staff had laughs with them.

I visited three venues Cheetham Arms, The Spead Eagle and The Last Drop. Also brunch at Bakers, Edgerton. All had excellent customer service and food in welcoming decorated atmosphere.
Visited Middle Brook shopping centre. An impressive range of retailers.
Travelled as passenger in relatives car. Traffic fairly busy but no hold ups. Would be confident enough to drive solo.
Very nice hotel, decent food options, staff/manager very friendly and helpful, very chilled atmosphere and good location. Room was nice and quite big. Breakfast was really tasty. A really clean hotel and was really impressed with the upkeep. Natural features from the 1800s when built but also a modern hotel with sports screens music and a variety of beers, wines, spirits & ciders. We would definitely stay again. Also there was definitely a ghost in our room always a bonus!!
I've stayed in Rivington Lodge many, many times over the years. It's a cheap, budget hotel that will provide you with all the amenities you'd require. TV, kettle, tea and coffee, comfy beds, and a surprisingly nice bathroom. The location is ideal for people like me who often get very hungry late at night... it's a one-minute walk over to the Spar which is open 24/7. Overall, Rivington Lodge is worth the money, in my opinion. You get what you pay for!
We booked in as we were visiting family, the room was on the top floor and was so hot, the shower leaked all over the floor, sink cracked. Did try to upgrade but was told it was full
Opening the windows we were kept awake most nights by the noise of the air conditioning over the hotel
Such a shame as I had Always wanted to stay at this hotel
I like the room where did I stay .the staff is very friendly. Kitchen is nice and I love the property was non smoking place. The staff care guest very well . In my personal view it is good place for stay a night when u visit Bolton . Near train station .available bus and near town centre
Although it was the cheapest hotel available. It was probably overpriced. This dump hasn’t seen a lick of paint in 20 years. Would benefit from a period as an Asylum accommodation to pay for a total refurb.
The hotel stinks of smoke. Guests (refugees) smoke in their rooms and the stench is awful. Stayed with a young child, not a pleasant experience. Linen on one bed not clean- sheet very creased and stained.
Excellent hotel and pub. Great friendly staff. Travelled with family as an away supporter to the Bolton Stadium. Free parking was a bonus. Horwich in general is a great place.
We loved the location of this hotel, hotel is very nicely set out and our meal in the hotel restaurant was lovely, the fish was beautiful, staff were helpful and friendly.
