The facilities were excellent. The room was well arranged. Rod was very helpful. Rod helped us with the tour of Dandenong Ranges as we didn't have our car. Rod also dropped us back at the train station. Excellent stay.

Great location that is near enough to amenities (short drive to supermarket, petrol, food etc.) yet quiet and peaceful among trees and nature. Beds are comfortable and warm for the winter. Spacious and well-equipped kitchen so we could cook our own meals easily. Washer and dryer are very handy. Friendly owner.

I loved everything about the cottage. Thoughtful touches like beautiful tableware, relaxing music playing on arrival. It was just gorgeous and I wish we could have stayed longer. Its walking distance to the village and a short drive to supermarket and surrounded by nature. It is also under an hour from Melbourne so I would definitely stay here over being in town.

    The location was amazing, so many beautiful birds to feed on the balcony and the treetop views were breathtaking. The fireplace was well stocked with firewood and kept us warm all evening. The air hockey/pool table was so much fun and the beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed it far exceeded our expectations ❤️

    The house was nicely furnished with plenty of relaxing lounge chairs and dining areas. Travelling with young children. Well equipped kitchen so that we could prepare meals for dinners and breakfasts. No restaurants close by. We were enveloped in nature with bushland and bird visitors.

    I've stayed here a number of times and have found Rustic Retreat to be the perfect place to base myself, when visiting family. It's a gorgeous scerene area to get away from the hustle and bustle. Ample breakfast items were available in my room and if needed I could use the kitchen for a cook up. The verandah overlooking the garden and surrounding area is just perfect to sit down and just relax.

    Everything. What a great place! They have everything you could possibly need and more. If I had to pick one thing, the bathrooms/showers were especially enjoyable, but also the beds, sofa, kitchen, cockatoos, pool/air hockey table, TV… :).
