We chose Casa del Delfines for its great location and the fabulous view of the water. It's amazing that you are right on the main street yet you close the gate to the street and the busyness of Tortuguero is forgotten. We enjoyed preparing our own food in the well equipped and open air kitchen and enjoyed dining or relaxing while overlooking the water. We loved watching the boats and the birds on the river. The bedrooms are air conditioned and comfortable. The host, Rodrigo, was wonderful in always making sure we had everything we needed for a great time in Tortuguero. He arranged guided trips and his guides are very welled informed and native to the community. Let Rodrigo arrange your tours as he will make everything catered to your interests. Restaurants and cafes are plentiful and the grocery store is right across the street if you choose to cook your own meals. A wonderful place for an extended stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our ten days at Casa los Delfines. We didn't want to leave, and we look forward to returning again.

Fantastic host. He could not have been more accommodating. Even came over on a rainy evening to give us an umbrella. Great value for 2 friends as there were 2 bedrooms. Market and great coffee place were steps away with a few good restaurants only steps farther. As soon as we arrived, the host had a tour guide —Brandon Experience—come over to tell us about the options. Brandon gave us two great tours (morning canoe ride followed by national park) and arranged for our transportation to Arenal.

Hotel Serendipity's staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - for example (1) meeting us at the main boat pier on arrival and escorting us, carrying our luggage on a cart, to the hotel, (2) discussing and arranging an excellent birdwatching tour, (3) general housekeeping including fast turnround on laundry. The hotel is very new and pleasant with a central covered courtyard for meals. Location is near the Reserve and the beach but also near a small supermarket and a short walk into the main town.

The hosts, Oscar and Karen, were superbly welcoming and friendly. Our favourite stay in all of Costa Rica! Quiet clean rooms with comfortable beds, individual A/C in our room, private bathroom and good shower. Safe and private. Well-equipped kitchen and a delightful covered patio to relax. We spotted a variety of birds, iguana, and a far off monkey from there. Easy walk to stores, restaurants, the boat dock, and the Tortuguero National Park. Oscar has his on boat with a quiet trolling motor, and he gave us an early morning boat tour of the National Park canals. He’s wonderful guide at spotting wildlife- many birds, spider monkeys, caiman, lizards.

The staff was above expectation. If I go back to Tortuguero, I will stay here, primarily because the gentleman at the front desk went out of his way to answer questions and help me with any issues I had. First rate. Bed was comfortable, air conditioning was efficient. WiFi was strong enough to stream movies and upload small batches of photos. Plenty of space in the shared kitchen area for me to store my groceries. Two ply toilet paper.

    Very welcoming owner Idalia (Lali) is also an excellent night guide for turtle tours. She is very helpful also with arranging different kinds of transport or services, and even kindly did our laundry. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook every day, and one room had a welcome AC unit. There are so many beds in this house, you could comfortably host a VERY large family!

    This was easily one of the best places I've ever stayed at when traveling. It's only a few steps away from the ocean, you can hear it (even when the AC is on) going to to bed and waking up. The terrace is really nice also and you're in town in no time by foot. I had a small "kitchen", don't expect a lot of it, but for me it worked just fine. Very nice and helpful host. I would come back here in a heartbeat. I was here in temporada baja so the price was really good too.
