Self Catering Accommodation in Höfn

Lovely location with beautiful surrounding views. The property was lovely & clean and well equipped for cooking, but could do with a proper sofa/settee as the one in the property was a little uncomfortable to sit on. Could also do with a dust pan and brush. Apart from that it was lovely.

We absolutely LOVED this cottage by the sea. I call it a "cottage" because (in my mind) instead of an "apartment" it seems to describe this freestanding lodging (with no other lodging nearby) better to me. This two bedroom, living room, dinning/kitchen, bath (with washing machine) was perfect for the 3 of us. There was plenty of room to relax without feeling cramped for space. As you approach the cottage, the area looks a bit industrial but don't let that put you off. Once you see the sign "Apartment by the Sea" you feel like you are in a time gone by. The cottage offers privacy, with an unbelievable view of the sea dotted with islands. On a calm morning it is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. We even spotted a seal taking a morning swim. There are several lovely restaurants within walking distance and the town has some shops and walking trails to enjoy. This town doesn't feel touristy but rather authentic Iceland. The owner met us at the apartment with the key and answered our questions.....as he was at the shop next door.....that was a surprise bonus.... the owners also own and operate a lovely boutique shop connected to the cottage giving 20% discount to renters. The building is a historic fishing processing site and built to withstand the strong winds common in this area. There are pictures inside of the original use of the building...oh, what would those fishermen think now. We loved this town and this lodging and highly recommend it.

Absolutely stunning location, very clean and has everything you can possibly need. Very friendly and helpful staff that gave excellent directions to the cottage. Great internet connection Had a morning coffee on the terrace and had a pleasure of watching a reindeer walk by.

It was clean, bright and spacious. Huge living room and kitchen. Very comfortable beds.

Don't be fooled by the external appearance of the building. I rented apartment 6 on the ground floor, and it was modern and comfortable with an upmarket feel. It comes with cooking amenities and a good sized fridge and a small dining table. However, there is no tv. There is no breakfast option, you will need to cook it yourself or go to a cafe. The bed was very comfortable. There are roll down blinds on the windows to keep the light out. Entrance to the building is through an automatic door with each apartment then having it's own keybox with code. There are three very good restaurants within a 5 minute walk with the harbour area also in the same area. The town's swimming pool is just 5 minutes away by foot also. There is a filling station 400 metres down the road.

The location of the accommodation is excellent, easy to find, and it's right across from a supermarket. The room was very clean and spacious.
