The area is a good gateway to important Kumano Kodo spots. Moss House is a short walk from Miwasaki train station. The apartment has everything you need, the kitchen is well-equipped. It is clean and practical. There is space to park your car. But most importantly, Fumi-san who runs Moss House is a gracious and hospitable host. Her and her husband have been incredibly helpful and made us feel very welcome.

The house is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything you might need during your stay. The owner is exceptionally kind and went above and beyond to assist me when I had an accident, which I truly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting the area.

Yoshi the owner is really nice! We have a really good time there. The dormitory, bathroom and kitchen were very clean and the mattres really confy. The location is amazing: near temple, castle, supermarket and train/bus station. It was a really good stop after our days Hiking the kumano kodo trails. Thank you for everything yoshi!!!

Clean, calm in a residential area, all you need is around the hotel (2 supermarket at 5minwalk, even a 2nd hand market). You will have all you need in the hotel. I was a little bit worried of sharing bathroom and shower with others, but it is well organized. You need to reserve a 30min time span of showering. All was clean. The room is spacious also. Highly recommand

Staying in an old-school Japanese house was a great experience for a foreigner like myself. The house is equipped with everything you need, including a stove, pan, utensils, microwave, fridge, and a small oven. The location is also very convenient—there’s a supermarket just a five-minute walk away, and a bus stop only two minutes away. The bus takes you directly to many famous attractions, including the three well-known shrines, which is especially helpful on rainy days when you don’t want to walk far after getting off the bus. While the cleanliness isn’t at a “hotel” level (as it’s not a hotel), the owner was very responsive to any issues I had. On the first night, I realized that the air conditioner wasn’t working, which was frustrating given that it was 30 degrees inside. However, after I contacted the owner, they came the next day to check the AC. I didn’t expect it to be fixed immediately, but to my surprise, the owner brought and installed a portable air conditioner while I was out sightseeing. I came back to a “new” AC! Overall, I had a pleasant three-day stay.
