Michael is a person with a kind heart. It was great to meet him and to know a bit more about his life and the place. He made all the decoration himself and everything is very original. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Avian Garden. The room was perfect, the garden beautiful and the three Sri Lankan breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. Usaj made sure we experienced very tasty Sri Lankan food. He arranged a Safari in the National Park with a local man who was very well informed concerning all the flora and fauna in the park. Avian Garden is in a discreet location, within easy walk of Udawalawe. As we walked by, the friendliness of the people in the nearby homes was very encouraging, as were the people in Udawalawe.

Very nice please and extremely friendly hosts. We did a 4 hours safari with Hashan as well as had dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious and plentiful! The room has aircon, warm water and the house itself is located in a quiet street. We would stay again!

The entire place was idyllic. Just off away from the hustle and bustle. The setting is in paddy fields down a dirt track. So, so cool! The manager on sight was extremely helpful and got us a tuktuk and drove with his bike down the track as our car couldn't make it and got us cold fresh juice on arrival. The owner was very helpful via WhatsApp. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Thank you to the team.

Our stay was absolutely authentic. Far from the usual touristy GuestHouses, here we lived with the locals. Chintha and Suranga introduced us to their world and culture, and did everything they could to make our stay exceptional.
