I was fortunate enough to arrive early in the day (2pm) and have the swimming pool all to myself on what was a very hot and muggy day. Mountain View is in a beautiful location, and indeed boasts a spectacular view of the Langeberg mountain range which serves as the backdrop to Swellendam. The guesthouse is just a ten minute walk from the prettiest part of the town where old Cape Dutch style architecture sits comfortably alongside several restaurants and cafes. Vera, the owner is an excellent host was most helpful. I've stayed in many places in South Africa, all of them generally very good but on this occasion I'm giving Mountain View 10/10.

Gorgeous properties on beautiful land with lots of fun surprises - friendly animals, welcoming touches inside the cottage, extremely comfortable, roomy and well equipped. Individual cottages feel private while still having proximity and shared outdoor space with other guests. We also very safe and secure during our stay. The owner was really friendly and we could have stayed for days.

The house was absolutely gorgeous, straight out of a magazine. It felt so luxurious. We had everything we needed and more! It was so beautiful and peaceful on the farm and it really felt like a home away from home. The owners, Marthalie and Neels, were so kind and hospitable. They were always available when needed and treated us like family!

    The cabin is secluded and has epic views. It is also super well equipped, every little detail from champagne glasses to a portable speaker was in the cabin. We made a lovely meal in the kitchen (which also has everything one could need) and had a fire going the entire night. It was quite cold on the day we arrived, but the host provided enough wood and the fireplace really warms up the cabin.

    Room was very nice with everything required for self catering. Clean, with decent shower, toilet & vanity. Nice kitchen with fridge and wash basin, etc. Outdoor Braam area should you have required it. Staff were helpful with suggestions of restaurants to eat at and places to visit.

    It is self catering accommadation but you can order a picnic to be brought in if you wish. There is also a barbeque area all neatly packed with wood for your convenience just ready to be lit. The kitchenette is well equipped too.
