I would recommend for everyone arriving with a car to the Isle of Mull.

Over the top exceptional service, location and home. The views were absolutely incredible and the house was set up so nicely it was like being in your own home! Not only were we met in person and shown around, the owner left us a little stash of breakfast goodies for the next morning! It was wonderful. We were so sad we couldn't spend more time at this particular property.

The pictures don't do the place justice. Such peace and tranquility. The private bay is stunning. A nice wander down to the local is fun. Just what we were looking for. Didn't want to leave.

It is so well cared for and homely with everything you could need for easy self catering. Comfortable beds and hot showers- unfortunately we didn’t need to use the wood burner! The location is wonderful with red deer visiting and fabulous views to the Treshnish Isles and Staffa within a few minutes stroll.

On arrival in Iona, we were met from the ferry by our lovely hosts Jamie and his mother Kate. They could not have been more welcoming, driving us to the lovely Machair House, their tranquilly situated family home at the back of the island, surrounded by sheep and lambs grazing happily against the backdrop of the flower strewn Machair and the lulling waves of The Bay at the Back of the Ocean. Machair House is as warm and welcoming as its hosts, with a splendid sunroom, relaxing sitting room, very comfortable bedrooms, and well-equipped kitchen. I happened to be celebrating a special birthday during my stay on Iona, and our hosts made it even more special by providing a huge birthday balloon and a bottle of fizz! We spent two wonderful weeks in Iona staying at Machair House.How perfect, after a day-out exploring the island, to return to this cosy and much-loved haven.

We stayed in Cabin 3, which is located right in front of the sea and feels immersed in wild nature—a truly special setting. The cabin itself is well-equipped, cozy, and beautifully designed. Highly recommended for those looking for a peaceful and scenic retreat.
