Clear instructions for the check in process, conveniently close to a parking lot where we could leave our rental car, and exceptionally clean and comfortable facility with a nice balcony.

Urania is a hotel resort located near the beach. Each apartment is equipped with a kitchen and a living room with a sofa, satellite TV and a telephone. Parking is also available. Resort Urania really surprised me in a good way. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment that was spacious enough for 4 people. The apartment’s equipment was unbeatable – the resort really thought of everything. The rooms were clean, and while cleaning was done on request, you could change the sheets yourself whenever needed (I don’t see that as a minus). Breakfast was very rich, with something for everyone. The quality of the ingredients was high, and the fruit selection was one of the best I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Dinner was the same story – very tasty food, a wide selection, grilled dishes on the terrace, and a large variety of desserts – and not just different puddings or jellies in cups like you often get in supposedly “higher-class” hotels. These were real baked cakes and pastries. Within the hotel grounds there’s a perfect children’s playground, big enough so it doesn’t get boring quickly, and our son really spent a lot of time there. You could reach the beach within a few minutes, it was really just a short walk. There was plenty of space on the beach, it didn’t feel crowded at all. Note – it’s a public beach, so umbrellas and sunbeds are only available for a fee, and the price was quite high (around 15 euros for a set of two sunbeds and an umbrella). There were plenty of bars and restaurants in the area.

We chose the apartment with the terrace and it was perfect. We sat out on the terrace each day for breakfast and dinner. In the morning bathed in sunshine, in the evening enjoying some welcome shade. The apartment was spotless and our host Martina was available to answer any questions quickly. An extra special touch was she organised parking for us in the village car park and it covered us for the carpark in Ston too.
