This hostel is located on Berunes farm by the Ring Road and is 45 km from the village of Djúpivogur. Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, and lounges. Free WiFi is available. The host was charming and very welcoming. The dinner was excellent, the chef is a real talent. The peace of the area, a bit fewer folks up this way. The views. The cute chapel on site. The very interesting history of the property.

Our apartment was on the ground floor. The living room, kitchen and 2 bedrooms were reasonably spacious, nicely decorated, very clean and very cozy. Our friends stayed upstairs in another lovely apartment. Seyðisfjörður, is a lovely small town, in a valley, surrounded by beautiful mountains. The locals are all very friendly and we enjoyed lovely food in the nearby Aldan bar/restaurant. We stayed for the Sluice 2025 art event, but it would also make a great base for driving around and seeing all the other sights. If I am ever travelling in this region again, I would hope to stay in this cottage.
