This hostel has a really good vibe. Staff is super welcoming and the common area/kitchen is very cosy. My friend associated hostels with all sorts of negative things (in European cities...) but she loved Maya! The showers were good. The trains didn't bother us (me with earplugs, my friend without). I actually liked to watch the trains ;)
The property, facilities (kitchen, shower) was great and kept really clean. The hosts Meg and her Mom were so kind and friendly to talk to. I loved the kitchen area/ lounge and you could store food in the fridge. The room and mattress were comfortable.
The stay was good and the check in really easy. I arrived very late and was happy about the implemented system. The bed was comfortable and the place had great wifi. Bathtub and shower are there, washing machine and kitchen as well.
The common/kitchen area, not big but spacious enough. Close to Sannomiya area.
Quiet location and a spacious room more like an apartment with kitchen, dining and tatami room and balcony up on the 3rd floor
Friendly owner. I suspect maybe more friendly & inclusive with males or perhaps couples from other reviews. The room having a private balcony was wonderful. Bar & hot drinks downstairs. Close to several onsens & shops & restaurants & opposite the ropeway which has fantastic views.Bed & pillows were good too. Access to a kitchen & washing machine downstairs.
Not really a "typical" ryokan -- the room quite large and typically furnished but on fourth floor (with lift), no common space that I could tell except in kitchen/dining room which was not quite "open to everyone". So I did not really meet anyone, not a "family" feel. But easy to find and pretty central and clean,
The hostel has really nice interior in what feels like a euro-Japan mix, nice kitchen, small sofa area where you can sit and read or put up your laptop, very charming bathroom with Japanese bathtub. The bunk beds are big and spacious with lots of room for your luggage. The neighbourhood is nice with lots of coffee shops and restaurants, about a 30min walk from the big shopping district.
I stayed in the futon beds room, which was very spacious and pretty. I enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and the facilities in General, the design, the location... Basically everything.
