Located downtown near the Nishiki market an a short walk from Gion. The room was small (though not particularly so for Japanese standards), and came equipped with all possible amenities, including a washer allowing for a quick batch of laundry mid trip. The bed was comfortable and I found everything to be well thought out, and the staff extremely helpful. One evening they helped me secure restaurant reservations when I was unable to do so myself.

The location was close enough to Pontocho and the Kamo River to get a drink or enjoy an evening stroll, but distant enough that it was quiet at night. I was very grateful that the staff was able to accommodate a last-minute request. The care and kindness shown was especially appreciated.

At check in time a special mention goes to Kanako who was very kind and made check in so much fun for my daughter with a mini treasure hunt and a prize at the end! My kids were so happy! There is also a special hotel stamp at reception! The lounge is very nice and modern and clean with a good (free) coffee machine and free soft drinks too (and a good selection of teas) The room is well thought out with comfortable beds and a choice of two types of pillows on every bed. Nice kitchen area with comfortable seating and a table as well as open wardrobe area. There is a fridge and microwave and washer/dryer. Also a good hair dryer and good quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash, and nice toothbrushes. The extra foldable mirror was so handy too. If you need any extra’s there is a station at the hotel reception that includes eg cotton, hair ties! Ironing board and iron are available too! I used a luggage forwarding service and at check in my luggage was already in my room. I also used the service to forward to my next hotel from Tokyu stay and the staff (a nice gentleman and a nice lady called Kaede) filled all the forms for me and I just left my luggage at reception to be sent off!
