Matt is a very kind host who waited on site for us to arrive, and to personally welcome us and show us how unlock the garage. He even baked an entire sourdough bun for us as a welcome gift, which was very sweet and pleasant surprise. The house was huge and comfortable, and well stocked with coffee beans, a coffee grinder, a French press, green tea leaves, hot chocolate powder mix, and the hosts even left a bottle of apple juice, water and milk for us to enjoy. Very thoughtful indeed, we felt like we were putting up at an old friend's home! The lodge manifested my long time dream of staying in a cozy cabin in the woods.

Food was excellent, staff was super helpful and the rooms were great. The hotspring (onsen) was nice as it was inside our cottage so it was private and very cool. Rooms were immaculate and the fridge and stove top with all necessary utensils was a definite plus! walkable to almost everything you need including the ski lifts at Akakura.

The house was spacious and comfortably furnished. The beds were very comfortable with high quality linen. The villa is close to Lotte Arai resort (about 5 minute drive) and the managers of the villa were extremely helpful in arranging transport for our group with a neighbour, who was charming and helpful. The manager also arranged dinner for us at a local restaurant which usually only offers lunch and this was a very special experience for us. The drying room was excellent for our ski gear. From the house are views of the surrounding rice fields and up to the mountains.

Located within 200 metres of Akakura Onsen Ski Area and 7 km of Myokosuginohara Ski Area, The Address Akakura features rooms in Myoko. All rooms boast a kitchenette and a private bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, we paid for the breakfast option and the food and coffee was just right every morning. Clean facilities, the staff was always there to assist if we had questions. The shuttle only takes you to Suginohara, Akakura Kanko and Ikenotaira. But if you give them advance notice, they can come get you when you’re done skiing for the day, it’s a wonderful amenity! The Onsen in the property is delightful as well, much needed after skiing all day. The location is perfect for walking anywhere, rentals, food, local buses stops and the convenience store. The front desk has all the information needed to get to know the town easily and find your way around. One of the best ski properties I’ve ever stayed at in Japan!
