The only negative is that the place is so nice that you may not want to go out sightseeing, but rather stay in theively apartment.

I loved it. If you want the experience of staying in a true Edo place... stay here. The bathroom and kitchen have been updated (the wooden bathroom smells amazing). There are modern toilets. But the rest is original Edo style. It's a great place to use as a base for a roadtrip around the Kiso River Valley. You just feel like you're in another time. I absolutely loved it, and would stay here again.
