There is an awesome park/ river very close also. If you are an experienced traveler, this place is AWESOME! Very short walk to Mercado Cerritos, and towards downtown you can walk along the river the whole way, about 20-30 mins, but easy bus access also straight down to Parque Alameda in 8-10 mins. Nice to be a little away from downtown for me, I was there during August vacation time and the center was pretty packed and busy.
