The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, full-day security and luggage storage for guests. We had an unforgettable experience here, like in a fairy tale from the Arabian Nights amidst the breathtaking desert dunes, we experienced genuine, warm hospitality. We checked into a villa that we were told was ours and were looked after by Tushar, who was invisible, very respectful of privacy and yet always there when we needed him. He explained that the owner of the house, Mohammed, had told him that it wasn't about money, the only important thing was that the guests were happy and that they were treated like family. The landlord, Mohammed himself, took us into the desert and treated us to a big dinner in the middle of the dunes, and when a sandstorm came up, Mohammed even conjured up an innovative shelter for us out of flying carpets. On the day of our departure, we were surprised by Mohammed and his children who visited us with presents, we experienced the great hospitality of Oman first hand and felt at home, and now, back home, we miss it very much.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Sand House. The location was great, super easy to get to with a sedan, and it's right at the end of the dunes, so it was a nice walk to see the sunset. The rooftop was a lovely place to just take in the views and enjoy the sunrise. The house had all the amenities/facilities you need. We didn't cook, but the kitchen had everything you'd need to cook/have a meal. The pool! We enjoyed night swimming/taking a dip in the pool, which was nice and refreshing amidst the desert heat. Special thanks to Camarol, who was fantastic from pre-check in until check out. The entire house was absolutely spotless, he patiently answered all our questions, and made us the most delicious breakfast. Wish we stayed longer, but definitely pinning this location for the future!
