Stray Birds Taichung Hostel is set in Taichung. Popular points of interest nearby include Kuangsan SOGO Dept. Store and National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. We arrived earlier than the check in time. We were advised to store our luggage there and come back to check in later. The staffs are friendly, ready to help and gave us good advice. 谢谢你们！ The room is spacious dan clean. Slippers are prepared so everyone help to take care of the cleanliness of the bedroom. The beds (double deck) are not too soft and very comfy for us who had a long journey. The bathrooms are sparkling clean. Hair dryer is available. Hot shower is something really great after a day of sightseeing in the city on foot. Breakfast is included. Though quite simple, taste good and very filling. The common area is very comfortable. We enjoyed our quiet and non-disturbed hours there. Hot beverage is available always. The location of the hostel is very strategic. Bus stops are in walking distance, found in all directions. Lots of eateries and shops around, old and new. Convenient shops such as 7-11, family mart and Watsons are just nearby. We even found the post office just next to the hostel. There is a night market nearby of which the stalls are run by various local artists (本地艺术家) displaying their own products. Good experience to explore and enjoyed ourselves. Washing machine and dryer are provided with the minimum charge. Very convenient for travellers.

We were thoroughly impressed by everything—the prime location, fantastic amenities, and the incredibly kind host! The homestay is conveniently situated right next to Splendor Hotel and The Six Market Mall, making shopping and dining a breeze. Within just 3–8 minutes on foot, you can reach a famous breakfast spot, enjoy local braised pork rice (lu rou fan) by 11 AM, or grab delicious ramen, Sukiya, and more. Everything you need is within walking distance! Fully Equipped & Comfortable: The homestay has everything you could possibly need—a washing machine with dryer (plus detergent provided!) made my trip so much easier. The host truly thought of every detail—just bring your toothbrush! The space was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The owner deserves special praise for being extremely responsive, attentive, and helpful from the moment I made payment until checkout. He went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and pleasant stay. His kindness and quick replies made the experience even better! If you’re looking for a well-located, fully equipped homestay with a fantastic host, this is the place to book! Highly recommended—I’d definitely stay here again!
