The stars of the accommodation are definitely Tom and Franziska who take the time to talk to us and make us feel welcome. As the hotel is located in Obertraun where there's a limited restaurant, the complimentary and wholesome breakfast is an added bonus. Everyday there's a different pastry served which is prepared by Franziska herself. Her apple strudels are the best we had in Austria. The room is very comfy, with a small balcony that has a lovely view of Obertraun. There's a kettle in the room for coffee and tea. The place is very clean and we were also asked if we like to have our room clean everyday ( which we don't require ). The hotel is located near the train station ( which unfortunately is under maintenance during our visit ) and the jetty.

The location was amazing with the most incredible views of Hallstatt, the Alps and the glacier. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, providing ice packs for our daughter who hurt her foot earlier in our trip. Breakfast was very good. Meeting the friendly roaming sheep was a bonus. The cable car ride up was also beautiful. It can get a bit crowded during busy times, but on the way down the next morning, we almost had the whole car to ourselves.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely amazing! This place is truly special, and we enjoyed every moment. First of all, everything was super clean. The furniture and bathroom are modern and well-maintained, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, especially considering it’s included in price. The location is perfect, just a 5-minute walk to the lake, making it easy to explore the area, which is absolutely stunning. It was quiet and peaceful in our room, we didn’t hear any noises from outside nor from inside. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We also loved the atmosphere and the cozy lounge zone, and bar with variety of drinks (tap beer, wine or cocktails). Honestly, I couldn’t find any disadvantages. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to come back!

From the moment you see the hut on the side of the mountain you feel a home from home. Relaxing, quiet (interspersed with the melodic sounds of cow bells) & comfortable. Bernhard & his team are like a welcoming family. Comfortable bunks, scrummy Austrian food & delicious homemade schnapps. If you want to experience a traditional mountain lodge experience this is a great place to start. With unexpected bonus fast wifi!

It's a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights or weekends! 2 minutes walk from the train station, bus station and a lake! Great view from the balcony. Very kind personal- manager kindly provided us with the kettle.
