I have stayed here several times. It is very expensive so it makes a lovely treat. Personally I like that it is all „auf Deutsch“. I like to experience a place from that country‘s perspective, plus I can work on my German!

We loved everything about our stay. The suite that we lived in was very large, enough for the 3 of us. It had a piano that my son enjoyed playing as well. The family owners and staff were the most hospitable, ensuring that we had a very memorable experience. We were also provided with a portable air conditioner in case it got warmer. We had stayed 3 nights, so enjoyed a special tourist card with free transport, cable car rides, cheese factory entry, and many discounts. We also were given free transport from the airport to the town.

The Hotel Frohe Aussicht hotel enjoys a quiet location in Schwende in the Alpstein Hiking Area. It offers free WiFi, fine regional cuisine, and a sauna.

Great location for hiking in Appenzell. 10 min drive from the main town with restaurants and supermarket. Beautiful views of the mountains. Very clean, and spacious rooms. Continental breakfast was extensive. Loved the homemade bread rolls and wide selection of teas. Would stay again if I hike in that area.

An amazing host Lise - a very helpful, knowlegable and friendly person with who I had a very intersting conversation. I would honestly recomend this BnB to anyone. Lovely hotel facing the snowcapped mountain and the greenery hill with mountain peak background. Plenty of on-site parking spaces. Staff are very friendly. The hotel is well maintained, has lift and Michelin star restaurant. Our room has balcony and a bench to enjoy the beautiful view. Room is spotless. Towels have no musty smell. Bedding is clean. Bed is comfortable, we have a good sleep. Good breakfast. Exceptional dinner. We will return in our next Switzerland visit.
