Staying at this beautifully restored traditional house, built over 100 years ago, was an incredible experience. The house and the surrounding little garden form a serene zen oasis where you can wind down and forget all your worries. The wonderful host, Kei, welcomed us warmly and went out of his way to create the best possible stay for us. It was lovely to hear stories about his family house and the Nagano region. In the evening, we sipped house-made holy basil tea by the fireplace. After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a hot bath and freshly ground coffee roasted by the master of the house himself. We would love to come back and stay for longer in this magical place!

Location was incredibly convenient. A lot of amenities were provided. Breakfast was exceptional. Rooms were soundproof and very quiet.

Staff were friendly. Complimentary coffee and juice in lobby. Room was good size for us with two small kids. Great onsen on top floor with complimentary ice cream. Super handy location- near station, lots of eateries, 3 stops from Zenkoji on the city subway. The pyjamas are so comfy!!
