Very close to the bus station, we stopped here on our way from Matsumoto to Takayama. Japanese-style room (ryokan), on the table a Japanese tea set (a teapot and bowls) with good sencha tea is waiting. The available natural hot springs are a great place to rest and relax. Meals in an atmospheric atmosphere in a yakuta with haori. Dinner is really delicious, quite decent fine dining. Breakfast is equally good.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station.

Very charming and aesthetic little hotel restaurant located in the woods just out of town. With nice little onsen - showers. Fantastic cuisine and wine (let the chef-owner pic for you). And extremely friendly and accommodating owner couple happy to pick you up / drop you off in town.

Clean n spacious room. In room onsen. Tatami floor bed comfortable, maybe pillow a bit hard. Strictly 3 pm check in n easy checking in. Family run ryokan n boss n staff very friendly. Delicious breakfast Kaiseki style. Order their dinner too n it was superb. Better book the dinner at hotel as there is not much around.

Everything was nice I couldn't ask for more. Room fit for even 4 persons, the location was good we could walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and also to Takayama Station easily. Looking forward to revisiting :)
