Beautiful and well equipped Ryokan with very spacious rooms. Superb breakfast prepared by Yumi which includes unique flavors and local ingredients. There are two on-site Onsen that can be used anytime and you can access 2-3 other public onsen. Akira San is very generous and helpful and even offered to drop us to the station. Shared toilet but this was spotlessly clean and always available.

I really liked the athmosphere of it. It felt like traditional Japan. We had half board that allowed us to try japanese food beyond what we would dare to order in a restaurant. The staff was exceptional!

The family that owns the ryokan was welcoming, kind and accommodating. The ofuro was very clean, good temperature and relaxing. About 40 minutes away from Yakebitaiyama on a snowy day, this ryojan is a wonderful stop to enjoy.

Located in the center of Shibu hot-spring area and a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Train Station, Sakaeya offers Japanese-style accommodations.

We were positively surprised in every aspect of our stay. Amazing room, superb staff “accueil “ , two banquets (dinner and breakfast) of incredible quality , onsen beauty, hakama (kimono shaped pieces for use be in the hotel be outside in the onsen street) quality and variety ( one for winter other for inner use ) . The private onsen was amazing but I guess any room in this place would make guests happy . It is definitely unfair to qualify it as a 3 star, it should be more .

We liked everything. It was a flawless experience. The staff was fantastic. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the food was delicious and last but not least the onsen were fantastic.

On just a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Station, Wafu-no-Yado MASUYA features beautiful Japanese-style rooms, hot spring baths and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms boast a private outdoor hot spring bath.

The staff were amazing and very friendly. They were very patient with our limited Japanese. Highly recommend the dinner (you will probably need to or book). The food was amazing and the variety and quantity blew us away. There are two public onsens on site, each with indoor and outdoor onsens that were beautiful. The location is excellent and Yudanaka is a lovely town, and very close to the snow monkeys. Would definitely come back.

We loved staying at Shimaya. The owners were warm and welcoming, they went out of their way to help with anything. They will even drive you to the snow monkey park for free! Breakfast was nice and well worth the money.
