Just a 5-minute walk both from Heiligenblut’s centre and ski area, the family-run Hotel Kaiservilla features a spa area with a Finnish sauna and a steam bath, and a ski storage room with a ski boot dryer. The Großglockner High Alpine Road can be accessed 50 metres from the hotel. Spacious room and bathroom. Lovely views from all windows, either the church or the mountains. Extremely friendly reception and chef! Breakfast was great, generous with local treats, even though we were one of only 2 occupied rooms in the hotel as it was end of season.

Family-run for over 300 years, Gasthof Post in Rennweg is just off the A10 motorway and a 5-minute drive from the Katschberg Ski Area. It offers a sauna, steam bath, and free Wi-Fi. The restaurant serves traditional Austrian and Carinthian cuisine. We enjoyed our stay at Gasthof Post very much. Traditional Austrian decor with the hints of modern was exactly what we wanted. Super clean, comfortable bads and specious rooms. Great Austrian hospitality.

The Gerlitzen-Kanzelbahn cable car is 800 metres away and the stop of the free ski bus can be found right in front of the hotel. A riding centre can be reached within a few minutes drive and the city of Villach is 10 km away. The facility is outstanding. It has a well-equipped JYM and Yoga studio, a spa area with saunas, a very good breakfast, and a public area (cafe, library). It is very clean and has a very Nordic design. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
