I'm generally not a person that stays in small huts like this, but I was positively surprised by this one. It isn't the most spaceous, but it was great for the two days we stayed there, and if you're a more wilderness/camping kind of person, I definitely recommend it. The surroundings were lovely woods with some nice walking paths, that especially at night provided some great opportunities for star watching, and the hut itself has a nice little kitchen with everything you need (except maybe an oven, but if you do it right, you can definitely do without that), and a nice and clean shower, the beds were also very comfortable. Every hut also has a fire place outside, and the owners provide firewood upon request, if there is no fire ban at the moment, which can happen if it becomes too dry. I can definitely recommend this if you are looking fora little bit more adventurous stay!

Gordon House ligger i Tomintoul, 43 km fra Balmoral Castle og 16 km fra Corgarff Castle, og har bjergudsigt og gratis wi-fi. The host was very kind and very friendly. She greeted us with whisky when we arrived, and told us the story of Gordon House. She also gave us a good recommendation for dinner (as she doesn't provide it herself on weekdays anymore). The room was clean, and everything was as described. The building is old, so don't expect fancy modern interiors, but everything is clean and the owners constantly work on improving it. And I must mention that the full Scottish breakfast was very good.

Alt fungerede som det skulle. Værtsparret var venlige. Den skotske morgenmad var velsmagende og mættede.

Choinnich ligger i Braemar, 20 km fra Balmoral Castle, 15 km fra Glenshee Ski Centre og 36 km fra Corgarff Castle. Dette overnatningssted ligger 20 km fra CairnGorm National Park. Functional, cosy and easy. Parked easily. The red squirrels outside :)

Kilmuir Cottage ligger i Tomintoul, 16 km fra Corgarff Castle og 23 km fra Abernethy Golf Club, i et område hvor man kan cykle. The Cottage was incredibly clean and extremely well equipped with modern and top quality facilities. Very comfortable would definitely recommend. Parents loved it as well. Underfloor heating was great and the place was just generally very warm even in March with snow outside.

Milne's Brae, cosy, comfortable and centrally located in beautiful Braemar ligger i Braemar. Her er en have, gratis wi-fi og bjergudsigt. Kitchen was exceptional. Place was so spacious and comfortable
