Otherwise a beautiful ryokan to experience Japanese living.

Bike hire and car hire are available at the holiday home and the area is popular for fishing and hiking. Skiing and cycling can be enjoyed nearby, while a ski equipment rental service, ski-to-door access and a ski pass sales point are also available on-site. Amazing host!! Guests at the ryokan will be able to enjoy activities in and around Takayama, like skiing. Absolutely stunning private onsen, really magical and beautiful. The food was outstanding and there was so much of it.

Spacious rooms, very tastefully decorated in a minimalistic style. The private onsen was blissful. Food was excellent (although a bit pricey). The hotel is 5 minutes from the bus station, with connections to the main cities and to the Kamikoche park. Overall, highly recommended.

Skiing is possible within the area and the ryokan offers ski storage space. There was a lot to like about Oyado Eitaro. The location is very convenient - only a five (maybe less) minute walk from the bus center. We dropped off our luggage before checking in and later found the bags in our room. The dinner was a wonderful experience and was probably some of the best food we had on our trip. It was a great way to try many different dishes, all of them well prepared. Breakfast was a similar experience. Both the public and private onsens were very relaxing and very clean. Overall an amazing experience. If we ever come back to the area, we’ll be looking to rebook Oyado Eitaro.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. So stylishly and cozily furbished, loved the view from the bathroom and it being next to a forest

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan Over 6 years old is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. WiFi is accessible at public areas for free, while the private-use hot spring bath is available at a surcharge. Best ryokan in best city (much better than Kyoto and Takayama) and we stayed in many before.

This recently renovated villa is located 2.3 km from Takayama Station and 50 km from Gero Station. The property is non-smoking and is located 2.8 km from Fuji Folk Museum.

Skiing is possible within the area and the villa offers ski storage space. The house decoration is modern, abundance facilities including heaters, pool table and lots of recreation stuffs. The kitchen and dinning table are big enough for a group of friends.

The property is non-smoking and is set 1.4 km from Gujohachiman Kyuchosha Kinenkan. place owner accommodated our late check in, helped us navigate around the town, the house was very authentic and traditional. Nature and the mountains around the town was astonishing
