Location was very close to a number of resorts (we also had a car). Breakfast was very filling and at a great price. The host also has access to discounted tickets for resorts in the area. We were very sad to leave.

The private onsen across the street is incredible, I had it to myself every night, and there is an option for breakfast. The room was perfect for two of us, and Papa was so kind to drive us to and from the Myokokogen station and the mountains, and also on some errands which was so kind. It feels like you are stepping into a place that can’t be created, a piece of personality.

It's a family establishment run by Satoshi and his wife, along with their two small children, with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location can't be beat with a five minute walk to the Ishiuchi Maruyama gondola. Satoshi and his wife were incredibly kind hosts, providing me and my friend with pick-up from Echigo Yuzawa Station (multiple times since we arrived and departed at different times!) as well as transportation to Maiko Ski Resort. They also rented out snowboarding gear and provided breakfast for extremely reasonable prices. I would recommend this place 10 times out of 10 and have every intention of returning myself in the near future.　サトシさん、誠にありがとうございます！

Maruyama Onsen Kojyokan offers a free shuttle service from Echigo-Yuzawa Station to the property, as well as to the ski resort. A shared lounge and shops are available on site.

A ski pass sales point and ski equipment hire is available. You can engage in various activities, such as skiing and hiking. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us in every aspect - picking us up and dropping us off at the train station, calling a taxi for us, etc. Also love that they have different pillow materials and varying degrees of softness/firmness for you to choose from (first come first serve), ensuring a good nights sleep.

Rooms are spacious, comfortable, very clean, and quiet. We are very pleasantly surprised by its meal services. The hotel has excellent breakfast and dinner: both meals offer a great variety of cuisines (both western and Japanese); the Japanese option is very good. The outdoor onsen is great. The staff are a bonus: very friendly and eager to help.
