The food was amazing and they were easily able to accommodate my sisters dietary requirements. We went with the Japanese style beds with futons and they were very comfortable. It was a perfect stop on the way to Fuji after Hakuba and very close to the snow monkeys, you could easily walk from the hotel.

The onsens were absolutely incredible – this hotel was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Easy access to the train station and Snow Monkey Park. Beautiful facilities and warm and friendly staff. The dinner and breakfast had great vegetarian options, and service was brilliant. High quality yukatas and tabi socks to chill out in when enjoying complimentary tea in the lounge. Overall fantastic experience.

With an open-air bath, the 2-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Guests can use the spa facilities, or enjoy mountain views. Absolutely beautiful. Very traditional building with lots of space in the rooms. The staff were incredibly accommodating and drove us to and from the station when we checked in and checked out.

Ryokan Daymaruya is a 15-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and a 25-minute drive from Shiga Kogen Ski Resort. Heiwa Kannon is a 10-minute walk away. Along Shibu Onsen (9 healing onsens). Extremely Friendly owners. Can speak english very well. They picked us up from the train station. The following day they drove us to the monkey park and after a few hours brought us back to the ryokan and even to the train station!!! Best customer service of all time!

Offering a free-use reservable hot-spring bath, shared indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths, and traditional multi-course dinners with Shinshu beef, Shibu Hotel is 8 minutes from Yudanaka Train Station on the free shuttle. The traditional rooms have Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Loved it, didn’t want to leave. The food was outstanding and the service was amazing. Huge comfortable rooms. They even cleaned our boots for us. The owners are just so lovely and really add to the character of the hotel. Sitting in the hotel outdoor bath while it snowed is hard to beat. My suggestion is stay at least 2 nights and on the final day, leave on the 10.50am train which will give you enough time for one final onsen after breakfast.

Suminoyu Inn is a 10-minute drive from Snow Monkey Park and a 25-minute drive from Shiga Kogen Ski Resort. Heiwa Kannon is a 15-minute walk away. Very beautiful surreal experience at Shibu onsen and Suminoyu was the cherry on the icing . Everything was just perfect . Right from the pick up to the drop off everything was so well taken care of .
