Settlers is a 5-star boutique motel offering comfort and privacy, in the village of Hanmer Springs. Friendly staff, comfortable room w kitchenette. Spotlessly clean, even the grout in the shower, which is grubby in most other places. Walking distance to the hot pools, shops, and restaurants. Lots of lovely touches, like Band-aids, a hot water bottle, and an umbrella.

Stayed for one night to break up the drive from Franz Josef to Lake Tekapo, and had the most wonderful time. A very spacious property for a family of three. The house has everything you need and more - very comfy. The location is lovely and peaceful, the views are stunning, and we discovered very nice short walks around the village. Honestly wish we spent more time there - we love the quiet, and this place has plenty of it. Communication with the host was super easy. Remember to stock up on food on the way as there are no cafes or shops in the village. Hopefully we'll be back one day to explore the area further and to enjoy the peace and the comfort.
