We were staying in the top floor 2 bedroom apartment which was super spacious, with large balcony and superb view of the mountains. Everything is new, fresh and looks stylish. The train tracks and station is near but you really don't hear anything from there. Everything the village offers - restaurants, grocery store, lakefront are within a short walk. While staying here we figured that this location is better than some others across the railway in the "village center" so to speak - less people and cars in direct vicinity. Great cafe behind the hotel.

Ski equipment hire is offered 100 metres away and the train station is set 200 metres away. We were very happy with this hotel. The apparment was big and clean, it had two rooms and the kitchen, also a balcony with the mountain view. The beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect.

Horský Hotel Popradské Pleso is a good starting point to go hiking and take part in guided alpine hikes to Gerlach or Vysoka, as well as join mountain climbing tours in the High Tatras. I'm giving this propert 10/10 because I was there in early February, I stayed in the dorm, so there was no one around, I stayed all myself in the room for 4 days so had no issues...

The hotel's ski bus departs from the hotel garage -2 at pre-scheduled times upon reservation. It provides good connections to the Park Snow Štrbské Pleso ski resort, located 900 meters away. This service is available during the winter season and can be used free of charge. Just 300 metres from the Jakubova lúka Ski Centre, this apartment house can be found 1 km from the centre of Starý Smokovec. It offers a self-catered accommodation with free WiFi in public areas and rooms. Was even better, than I expected. The photos of the room do not show full picture. The room had everything we needed: cosy dining area, equiped with kitchenette, big bathroom, comfy beds. And most important for us - they allow dogs!

Horsky Hotel Sliezsky Dom is located in the heart of Tatra Mountains, 1670 metres above the sea level. It offers elegant rooms with mountain views, a flat-screen TV and a minibar. Limited WiFi is available for free and a high-speed internet connection is provided for a surcharge. A magical stay surrounded by mountains, forests, a lake and a stream. We enjoyed the view from the window and the spa in every weather. At least 4 different nature trails start from the hotel door and they're all nice. Instead of googling "Tatras best hikes", just start walking in any direction from Velické Pleso and you won't regret it. Generous buffet at breakfast and dinner and delicious food and drinks for lunch. If you read negative reviews about the "tourist restaurant", note that that's the backpackers hut. The hotel restaurant is only available to hotel guests and the lunch options are delicious. We were told you can also ask for packed lunch for the hike, but it wasn't possible because we hadn't ordered it in advance. A free-of-charge spacious private spa by reservation with saunas and a beautiful view. You can send your luggage from their lower parking lot at the Tatranská Polianka railway station by their van and hike to the hotel. You can even leave it in a storage unit for them to pick up, you just need to coordinate in advance.
