The staff was extremely interested in meeting our needs, and they absolutely succeeded. The location is within easy walking distance of the main attractions and the train station in York. The room was quite comfortable.

It is a truly beautiful place. Everywhere I turned there was a picture calling to be taken. The green grass, the beautiful gardens, trees and flowers, the small pond - everything had an Alice in Wonderlandish feel. It’s far enough from the city to be surrounded by beautiful green fields and close enough that you can get a taxi to ride into the city center when needed. The staff was exceptional, always polite and taking care of every request whether it was a cup of tea in the lawns or suggestions of what to do nearby. The spa was also wonderful - with the heated pool, jacuzzi and steam / sauna, it all added to a relaxing stay

Breakfast was to order, lovely and warm athough portion sizes smaller than expected. Had dinner in the restaurant - fantastic. My daughter and I used the spa, well staffed. Kids used the rifle range in the monring of leaving, staff very helpful and kids had fun.

Byron Bar features oak panelling and an historic fireplace. The Courtyard Restaurant has a fine menu, and oak beams. Each en suite room at The Bridge has digital TV.
