A beautiful respite in a bustling city (with terrible air quality). The staff at the hotel are wonderful. The facilities with a beautiful pool and a great cafe add to the experience. Fabulous food in the restaurant also and enjoyed a massage in the spa.Enjoyed every moment! Used the hotel driver/car several times which enabled us to see and do more in this interesting city. Such a shame about the pollution.

Our stay at The Lalit Great Eastern in Kolkata was incredibly comfortable. The high ceilings and spaciousness of our room beautifully reflected the hotel’s Victorian and Edwardian heritage, steeped in history since the 1840s. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming, and the Hotel’s strong commitment to diversity and inclusion was very visible among the staff that served us. The hotel's central location made it easy to walk to New Market, and booking transportation was a breeze, thanks to their assistance at checkout. Breakfast featured a delightful spread with authentic Bengali flavors, including mishti doi (sweet curd) and luchi aloo (bread with potato). A special highlight was the enchanting performance by Breeti, who played the Dotara and sang folk songs, adding a unique touch to the experience. Overall, the ambiance was lovely, and I would definitely stay here again. A special thank you to the young man who helped me track my train live—your patience and support were greatly appreciated! Very well presented property in a part of Kolkata away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lovely rooms. The restaurants were also nice. The staff were especially polite, in keeping with what finds in Taj Hotels around India.
