The people who run this place are fantastic. It has just come into new ownership and each room is being beautifully painted by hand by local artists. Don't be surprised if in the evening you end up celebrating with local people after a cricket match. It isn't luxury but it is outstanding value for money and genuine.

My suite was wonderful, it was massive with a separate mirror sitting room (like sheesh mahal) and 2 balconies and a super large bathroom! The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The restaurant was amazing and a lot of the ingredients were grown locally at the property. The spa was also good and the kids have large gardens and a hoot pool to play in. Tortoise feeding was fun! We had 3 rooms all of which were great and unique. Good place to spend 2-3 nights with a bunch of temples and lakes to visit nearby.

The location of the hotel is amazing! You take a boat with a beautiful view and come to the hotel. The way they are greeting you upon arrival is unforgettable! The rooms are so spacious and luxurious! There is a very beautiful swimming pool with a gorgeous view on the lake! I had an opportunity to do a massage in the hotel and it was one of the best deep oil massages in my life! I would recommend to go to Kimkimi for a strong good quality massage! It is very comfortable that each guest has his own butler who is available all the time. I was lucky to have such a wonderful smiling, professional butler Foustinus! She assisted with all my requests! I would definitely recommend everyone coming to this hotel when visiting Udaipur! And I was lucky as well to have a local professional guide Mitesh who showed me the city from insight, told me so many stories of how locals live, showed me a ceramic market and how locals do pottery! All of it was absolutely wonderful. Tea, water, shampoo etc. were plentiful, a newspaper was delivered to the room in the morning, the installations and grounds were immaculate, the location was stunning, the staff were helpful but not instrusive and the whole stay was blissfully relaxing. It was my birthday and not only did they give me a free cake but also a birthday surprise, which I won't mention here so as not to spoil it for others.

We went to Udaivilas for our 20th Anniversary. The property is fantastically located, with great views and fabulous architecture. But the most important aspect is the service and courtesy of their staff.

This property is beautifully renovated. The personnel is very kind and accommodating. The hotel apparently only has room service during the day, but the staff brought me chai in the evening after asking. I booked an extra night, but the room I had was already booked, so they upgraded me for one night. Breakfast was amazing and the expresso is really good! It was a treat staying here, I hope to be back!
