If you are looking for a grand experience in a historic property - this is the place. Perfect location less than a minute from the stairs to the shrine. Only a 10 minute walk to the train. Loads of shops line the stairs. The hotel itself was exceptional: staff, facilities, onsen, restaurant, room - all were absolutely top notch. One of our best stays in Japan!

Super location, very helpful staff, good breakfast and excellent Onsen facilities

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a room with beautiful view to green mountains it was very nice. The room had big and comfortable bed. We could leave the window opened for the night so fresh forest air come in. The bathroom and the toilet were well equipped and luxury. I highly recommend to reserve for a dinner, it was very delicious and contained wide range of fresh Japanese ingredients. The breakfast was also fine. The onsen is located at a peaceful place in the forest looking to a spring and a small waterfall. We reserved a private bath, it was great too. It was a pleasant stay 😊

The staff are fantastic. Breakfast was delicious and had a lot of variety. Good coffee. Bed comfortable. In advance I requested a room next to my son’s and a quiet room and got both.
