The service at this property was amazing. Not only were they very friendly but they also went above and beyond in many instances where we had trouble due to heavy snow. Definitely would recommend to anyone staying in Shiga Kogen and wanting to relax.

Beautiful traditional hotel. We received one of the warmest welcomes from our entire Japan trip. The outdoor onsen (hot spring bath) is absolutely stunning, it can be chartered privately without additional cost! You also receive a key to access all 9 public hot spring baths in town for free. Our room was comfortable and very spacious. Breakfast was very tasty and plenty, I received a fully vegetarian meal on request. If you don't mind an uphill hike, you can reach the snow monkey park on foot in less than an hour from the hotel, but otherwise bus options are also available. Also only a short bus ride away from the nearest train station. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, we would love to come back one day...

The property was very cosy, it was a lovely experience to stay in an original ryokan, and have a quiet time in the onsen. The staff was extremely kind and friendly, and the location was just a short walk from the train station.
