Spa Hotels in Otsu

This place is a real gem for relaxation. Our room had a great view to the Biwa lake, comfy beds, and an open air bath. Our first dinner was a 10+ plate Kaiseki menu, and as our second dinner we chose crab shabu shabu, which was excellent as well. Tried public onsens (indoor and outdoor pools), private onsen, and massage. Wore Yukatas the whole time :) All public and private areas were exceptionally spacious. The staff were very welcoming. There was a shuttle to/from the nearest train station.

Everything about this place was amazing. The room was larger than the usual in Japan. I loved that there was a gym, and it’s well in the center but not too loud. It is close to everything! I love that there was also a bath tub. The beds were comfy.

Ala Hotel Kyoto is a modern and comfortable hotel with everything you might need for a pleasant stay. The location is great, the amenities are generous – from toiletries to tea – and the rooms are clean and well-designed. While nothing in particular stood out, it’s a solid and reliable choice for visitors to Kyoto.

The hotel gave us an incredible experience! The open-air public bathtub with a view of mountains and the shrine is something you need to experience yourself! After the bathing, there are popsicles and hot/cold drinks available for free.

This was by far the most exceptional service and facilities I have experienced in a hotel. The staff was so accommodating, friendly, helpful and kind. The value and quality of the experience was well worth the price. My family and I really enjoyed the onsen, free matcha, hot chocolate, ice cream and ramen. We had a great time using the free massage chairs as well. The breakfast buffet was such a complete and delicious way to start our travel days. It felt like a home away from home and I will book here again! The hotel even helped us ship our luggages to the next hotel right un the comfort of the lobby. The tatami mats were beautiful and soft as we walked through the hotel. The elevators arrived promptly and ran smoothly. Overall, I would 100% recommend this hotel. The location is in a premier spot near Kyoto station and the temple just a walking distance away. Thank you so much to the staff!

The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and had a tea table and a couch. It even had an area/room for the luggages/wardrobe. the toilet was big- a vanity area, separate toilet, shower and a bathtub tub.We booked a 3 single beds corner room which was very comfortable. Absolutely spacious and well thought of design. The breakfast was a good variety of western and Asian cuisine, and had fresh salad, and they also served food that’s locally grown/farmed. Hotel was also environmentally conscious providing refillable stainless water bottles and a water filling station on each floor. The bath products provided were also organic and gentle on the skin and hair. The location was perfect! It is right next to Takashimaya and approx 70 meters away from the main crossing. It’s on the quieter side of the busy area. There is a small grocery on the ground floor selling local and home grown food, and many organic fruits and veggies. The hotel also has a few restaurants. We were only able to try Roku- a ramen place and we really liked it. The patisserie in the hotel was always full- many locals also go there for dessert/tea time. Across the hotel is a famous gyoza place called Chao Chao which always had a long queue. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Japan! I’ve been to Japan many times and I highly recommend this if you’re going to Kyoto and want to be centrally located. I will stay in this hotel again when I go back to Kyoto. The staff are very helpful, warm and friendly. They helped me in making a reservation for the airport bus from Kyoto to Kansai airport in Osaka. They also booked a van taxi for us since there were 3 of us with luggages.

Art design everywhere. Spacious. Location.

The service from the hotel staff was great! The location is a comfortable walk to main transport options which made getting to main attractions easy. The room was clean and spacious, there were laundry options available in the hotel itself. The onsen provided a separate space to relax after a long day of walking and travelling.

The acomodation was excepcional, very good localization, the room was perfect and the staff was really nice. Perfect stay in Kyoto!
