Very good place to stay in Takayama. Near bus station but also quite close to old center. The room was spacious, clean, looked new, with nice view. There is a free coffee machine in a lobby. Wifi was very fast.

I particularly like the free amenities in the hotel, such as ice machines, free green tea, free sauna, and onsen. They have different incentives too like if you don't have your room clean, you get a gift. You can change the 2 free water bottles in your room for 2L big one. The breakfast buffet is 1000 yen, which is affordable. They have American/English breakfast and Japanese breakfast available.

Heating was working great ! Useful with the snow storm outside. There is a Konbini just across the street and the train station is 5minutes by feet. The breakfast was very nice.

Very good location - quite literally next to the train station. Our room was very clean and all the amenities are new. We also enjoyed the top floor balcony view. The onsen was very new and spacious - overall a very enjoyable experience, and highly recommend if you want a convenient stay at Takayama! Also the room we booked has a washing machine (with dryer) which was really cool

The onsen was beautiful as the location near the the mountains was fantastic. It was not a new and shiny place but felt like a wonderful way to experience a traditional Japanese resort with access to spectacular walking in the alps.

Featuring beautiful sceneries of the woods, Ryu Resort and Spa is located in the tranquil Shokawa Highland area, a 50-minute drive or free shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station (reservation needed).

Staff were attentive, food was good and the open air onsen made the experience very memorable. They also had kids Yukata and a small play area.
