Location was perfect (close to beach and amazing restaurants), staff were incredibly helpful, whole place was super clean and exceptional value for money. All quite basic, but it had everything we needed. The shared kitchen and fridge is also very useful… all in all a great place for a beach holiday!

During our Sri Lanka vacation, we stayed at the Amaranthe Bay Resort for the last two nights. The Junior Suite we booked was spacious and elegant, with the highlight being the Jacuzzi Bath – a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration. Adding to its charm, the balcony offered a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding nature, and we were fortunate to witness stunning sunsets over the nearby lake, creating unforgettable memories. Although the resort's large inviting pool was enjoyable, some sharp corners around the area caused minor inconveniences and led to an unfortunate toe injury. Nevertheless, our overall experience remained highly enjoyable. The hotel's convenient location allowed easy access to the ocean and beach, where we found several delightful restaurants for lunch or dinner. Inside the resort, we had the pleasure of dining at their lovely restaurant, offering reasonable prices and a varied, tasty breakfast. The staff was friendly and attentive, and while there was a minor disagreement about the exchange rate during payment, the managers handled the situation with professionalism, swiftly resolving any issues and leaving us with a positive impression of their commitment to guest satisfaction. Amaranthe Bay Resort's well-maintained and peaceful ambiance made our stay perfect. At the last minute, we switched from a large accommodation to the smaller Coastal Heaven Villa. We're so glad we did. What a wonderful place and what lovely people! There's a great vibe here. The accommodation is new. Real care and attention has been put into the rooms and common areas. The rooms are super clean, the bed is new; a very thick, comfortable mattress, and there's good air conditioning. Shampoo and tea and coffee making facilities are also in the room. We loved the common areas and garden where we could relax. Coastal Heaven is close (about 150 meters) to the lovely beach, which had a lovely, relaxed vibe when we were there. The accommodation provided beach towels, and you can also use the beach beds at Waves restaurant. Two excellent restaurants right on the beach. The owner, Thilee (speaks good English), and his staff are incredibly kind people, truly care for their guests, and do everything they can to make their stay as comfortable as possible. We needed a doctor in the middle of the night. The owner had a qualified doctor come to the property and even picked up medication from the hospital by motorbike. If necessary, we could stay longer the next day at no extra cost. They were very concerned. Thank you so much, Thilee, and your cooperation, for the wonderful time and excellent care! We will always remember you.

Comfortable bed, really good air conditioning and ceiling fan, clean ensuite bathroom, nice shower with good pressure. The breakfast is amazing. Definitely the nicest breakfast we had in Sri Lanka. Everything cooked fresh each morning (we got a tour of the kitchen to see the food being prepared) Best of all was the staff. Super friendly and helpful, gave us lots of information about yours, restaurants etc. Very helpful organizing whale watching tours and tuk tuks, but not pushy at all about doing tours if we weren't interested. The manager even warned us that whales hadn't been seen recently and if we did the whale watching tour we probably wouldn't see them. He didn't try to sell us every tour and trip etc, just gave us useful and trustworthy information. Amazing value for money.
