Our family absolutely loved this resort on our favourite island Lipe. This resort is terrific for families. Super clean abd large rooms. Our kids loved the enormous pool, which was nice and warm. The resort is beach front and we enjoyed many sunsets, whilst the kids played in the sand and swam. The 'Walking Street' is just a few minutes away, so the location is perfect. The staff were lovely and helpful and our children loved seeing the towel art that housekeeping left them each day. House keeping were great and very generous with towels. This side of the island has a lovely ambience and is protected from stingers. We suggest walking along to the other side of the beach to Sanom Beach. It's stunning, quiet and has no stingers there. It also a great spot for snorkelling. The hotel staff meet you at then port, take your luggage and walk you to the hotel lobby. We recommend for families.

The resort is situated right by the beautiful Sunrise Beach. Kayaks and snorkeling gear are provided for free, and one could easily paddle to a tiny island nearby to some decent snorkeling spots. The staff are very friendly, from the lady boss who tends to the counter, to the kitchen staff who serve the breakfast (ask for banana pancakes!), and to the drivers who take us to and fro the walking street in the evenings at stipulated times -- no problem if you miss the time, you could always take a cab cheaply, or walk! If you're looking for a seamless experience at a tranquil beach, then you won't go wrong with Kathalee!
