It is a charming place to stay in a beautiful area. The room was very large and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were hearty. The wellness and play areas are well appointed. And the owners are so kind. We left talking about when we can go back!

The Mönichwalderhof enjoys a scenic location in Mönichwald in Eastern Styria. It offers a spa area with an indoor pool, and a large garden with a children’s playground. The food was excellent even for a someone with celiac. Super friendly staff! Clean big room in a beautiful village in the forest.

We especially loved the private breakfast in the Chalet—it was such a lovely experience to enjoy it together as a family, making it even more special for our little one. The location was breathtaking, and everything about our stay was perfect. We also had the chance to relax in the sauna, which was a great addition to our getaway. Exploring the beautiful surroundings with our two-year-old son through scenic hikes made the weekend truly memorable. It was the perfect family retreat, and we can’t wait to return.

Located halfway between Vienna and Graz, Sporthotel am Semmering offers direct access to the ski slopes and hiking trails of the Semmering. Everything was fine, great rooms, very good breakfast, but the view was exceptionally awesome! We also appreciated that our daughter stayed free of charge (she's 10 months old) and an age-appropriate, safe, high-quality bed was provided for her.

Overall a great place, which still looks like in its glory, a hundred or so years ago. Mainly a seminar hotel, but happy to receive individual guests. Easy train ride from Vienna 70 min to Payerbach-Reichenau. From there the hotel offers transport, or alternatively walk 20-30 min along Schwarza river (avoid the Main Street). Indoor pool. Good breakfast in impressive historic dining room. Lunch and dinner options. Friendly staff. Good price-quality relation. (The hotel, while very nicely renovated, is not necessarily luxury, at least the parts that I’ve seen.) Good hiking options in and around Reichenau.
